Addressing the inaugural ceremony of 21-day training programme on ‘Holistic Development of Students’ at Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University (JNAU), Vice-chancellor, JNAU, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Bisen asked the students to fulfill their duties towards nation. They must always keep their will power and self-confidence high. Always remain positive and follow the path of sacrifice, moral values and strong character. Presence as keynote speaker, recipient of India Council Agriculture Research (ICAR) Award and Dean Agriculture Faculty, Dr. Dhirendra Khare advised the students to avail proper benefits of their professors’ knowledge. As presently students are quite intelligent and efficient but unable to focus. Raising question mark on the examination process in education, Dr. Khare said that nowadays education is connected with examination and scoring passing marks becomes the sole target of students. This becomes a major hindrance in the holistic development of students.
He suggested to discontinue this process for the students’ welfare. Dean, Student Welfare, Dr. Amit Kumar Sharma talked in length about the purpose behind conducting the training programme. Noted intellects from national and international platforms will deliver their lectures daily and provide guidance to the students. Vice-chancellor, Dr Bisen appreciated the Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Sharma for organizing the programme, as the event is first of it’s kind in the history of university. Hundreds of students from different agriculture colleges affiliated to JNAU including Rewa, Teekamgarh, Ganjabsauda, Waraseoni (Balaghat), Pawarkheda (Hoshangabad), Rehli (Sagar) and Khurai (Sagar), attended the programme through online mode. The invited guests who shared the dais Registrar, Rewasingh Sisodiya, Director Extension Services, Dr. DP Sharma, Dean Agriculture College, Dr. Sharad Tiwari, Dea, Agricultyre Engineering Faculty, Dr. Atul Shrivastava and Chief Researcher, NAHEP Project, Dr. R K Nema. The programme was convened by Dean Student Welfare, Dr Amit Kumar Sharma while Dr R K Nema proposed a vote of thanks.
