Pfizer’s $120 million expansion of its Kalamazoo-area manufacturing facility should offer at least a short-term boost to the fight against COVID-19, and to the local economy.

The project, which the pharmaceutical company announced late last month, aims to expand production of Paxlovid, an oral COVID treatment available under emergency use authorization (EUA).
